Codename: S.T.E.A.M Has Marth Speak English, Sullies Fire Emblem Franchise

Of course, aside from that one megaton news in the Nintendo Direct, there was another trailer involving Fire Emblem that involved another game.

And no, it wasn’t SMT x FE.

Fire Emblem and Steam

With Intelligent Systems doing work on Codename: S.T.E.A.M, it made logical sense for there to be some allusions to Fire Emblem in its game, even though it seems out of place when you have historical figures taking on zombies. Of course, we weren’t sure how, but with the ability to use Amiibo’s on the new 3DS forthcoming, now it makes sense to find value in buying all 4 of the Fire Emblem Amiibo’s instead of just using it for Smash Bros.

Of course, while retaining some weapons (Ike with Ragnell, Marth with Falchion, etc), and with permadeath also taking place in it (to an extent), there was one travesty. Fire Emblem fans all know what that is:

And thus, this once great franchise, this once JP sounding character, now has an English voice actor.

Let us weep. RIP Marth JP voice 2001 (Super Smash Bros. Melee)-2015.

(I’m kidding, but it definitely’s gonna take some adjustment to get used to.)
